Expand the Brand

Blogging

There are a lot of ways you can expand your brand online but today we are just going to point out one way that we’ve had success with. And that’s T-Shirts! Having your name on a shirt just makes you feel like a pro and with free shops like Zazzle and Cafepress – why wouldn’t you extend your brand and squat out pages on those networks. Its just another easy way to have your signage and links pointing people back to your blog with the added benefit of having cool T-shirts showcasing your logo and/or taglines that give your blog another outlet for creative expression.

So you have a blog and you have a logo then naturally you can jump right into making t-shirts right? Well its not going to be that easy campeones!

Choose one of the previously mentioned online print shops or if you are adventurous go with both.

You’ll need to have a large (hi-res) version of your logo to even begin putting your brand out on t-shirts. Last thing you want is to add a small logo on a t-shirt and the image to come back distorted or blurry. We will explore logos in another post so stay tuned for that.

For now, you have your large logo and you have your accounts setup on the Zazzles and Cafepress’ now you are ready for t-shirt makin’!

A couple things to keep in mind, you may want to approach this in an organized fashion…nevermind the pun.

Don’t jump in crazy with the random quotes, logos and coffee mugs and aprons. It’ll be better for you in the long run if you start off organized. Zazzle has cataloging and tagging for you to have different product lines so we suggest you use these tools and work on 1 idea or series at a time when you go to publish. For example, take your first logo and put it on only Women’s Tees and then publish them as a group. Then on to the baby wear, and then on to the hats – each time publishing the product types together. You might even try a color coordinated method. Once you’ve exhausted your first logo do the same with your next work of art.

You can earn money selling these things but we’re not holding our breath or banking on being the next T-shirt kings of retail. Just having our logo on that t-shirt and it be visible to you is worth more marbles than actually selling a shirt for a 10% cut. There’s just something about having your name on a t-shirt…and to top it off, it’s free.

Howdy making some easter mugs and wondering if there are better zazzle codes then the one I am using. I found promo code ‘RADONTHEWEB1′ with savings of 10% off. Any better coupons out there?
